
ZAMSTATS FLAGS OFF 2025 ECONOMIC ESTABLISHMENT CENSUS AT NATIONAL LEVEL
The Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats) has officially launched the data collection exercise for the 2025 Economic Establishment Census (EEI) country-wide. Speaking on behalf of Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary, Mr. Alex Chipo Mapushi -Deputy Permanent Secretary congratulated successful candidates who have been selected after a vigorous application and training processes. He noted that a total number of 245 data collectors have been distributed in all six districts of Lusaka Province.
He stated that the Economic Establish Census (EEI) is a comprehensive national exercise which is critical for capturing up-to-date data on the changes, levels and structures of the Zambian economy.
“This exercise is meant to serve as a cornerstone for evidence-based policy and economic planning. The government of the republic of Zambia remains committed to successfully conducting the 2025 Economic Establishment Census in line with the provisions of the statistics Act No. 13 of 2018,” Mr. Mapushi said.
He further appealed to the general public to support the data collection process in Lusaka Province and the rest of the ten 10 provinces. He further urged the enumerators to dedicate themselves fully to this exercise, as they have a huge assignment ahead of them.
“With great honor, I now officially flag off the 2025 Economic Establishment Census,” he declared.
